Located on the outskirts of the bustling market town of Ambleside, this 18th century Lakeland stone cottage enjoys an idyllic setting in the heart of the National Park, at the foot of Fairfield Horseshoe with Scandale Beck flowing through the perimeter of the gardens.
Accommodation
Scandale Bridge Cottage can accommodate 7 people, in four bedrooms consisting of two doubles, one twin and one single. All the bedrooms are comfortably furnished with views over the gardens or Scandale Beck. There is a fully fitted bathroom with shower and the larger of the double bedrooms has its own hand basin.
The beautifully furnished sitting room enjoys magnificent views over Scandale Beck and features a real coal fireplace, tv, dvd, video and comfortable lounge seating for up to seven people. The adjacent kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine and dryer and boasts an aga stove for cooking.
The mature gardens are another feature, and have a range of furniture including loungers, patio dining table & chairs and a children's play area with tree house. Parking is available for up to three cars.
Portable beds, cots and high chairs available upon request & Pets welcome by prior arrangement

How to find us
By Car From the North: Exit the M6 at junction 40 and take the A66 toward Keswick. Before Keswick turn onto the A591 toward Windemere. Scandale Bridge Cottage is visible from the main road, on the outskirts of Ambleside on the A591. After passing the Crow Howe Hotel on the right, take the second turning on the left just after the signpost for Ambleside.
From the South: Exit the M6 at junction 36 and take the A590 toward Windemere and the A591. Continue to the North and through the market town of Ambleside. Scandale Bridge Cottage is visible from the main road, accessed by taking the first right turn past Ambleside on the A591.
By Rail From the North: Take the train to Carlisle and transfer to the Number 555 bus for Lancaster from outside the station, asking the driver to stop at the bus stop after the town of Ambleside. Scandale Bridge Cottage is just a ten minute walk from the centre of Ambleside, taking the first right turn past Ambleside on the A591.
From the South: Take the train to Windemere and transfer to the Number 555 bus for Carlisle from outside the station, asking the driver to stop at the bus stop just before the town of Ambleside. Scandale Bridge Cottage is just a ten minute walk from the centre of Ambleside, taking the first right turn past Ambleside on the A591.
By Bus From the North: Take the Number 555 bus from Carlisle toward Lancaster from outside the train station at Carlisle, asking the driver to stop at the bus stop after the town of Ambleside.
